Project Description
Conservation, Alterations & Additions

Location
Killara, NSW

Timeline
2016 – 2019

The Killara Residence is a two storey Federation House built c1901. In c1950 it was subdivided into flats and was recently unoccupied. Letizia Coppo (as Senior Associate at Design 5 Architects) was project director responsible for design, Council negotiations and Development Application documentation and approval for conservation works and new additions to the original house.

With Ed Coppo as builder, and Matthew Byrnes of Design 5 as project architect for building works, the front rooms of the house were restored and its rear half demolished for a new brick and timber frame structure and wrap around two storey verandah featuring timber screens and fretwork.
